License 3D Human Scan Data for AI Training

OMng46nCKc

The largest commercially available photogrammetry-based 3D human dataset

HumanAlloy offers a library of over 4,700 real human subjects captured with a professional 180-camera photogrammetry rig.

Each subject was scanned in controlled studio conditions, producing clean, consistent geometry with realistic surface detail across a wide range of body types, ages, ethnicities, and clothing styles.

The dataset is available for licensing under a non-exclusive data licensing agreement, making it suitable for AI and machine learning research, generative model training, pose estimation, avatar reconstruction, and digital human development.

What's in the dataset

  • 4,700+ unique human subjects — real people, not synthetic or AI-generated
  • Full-body scans in neutral and natural standing poses
  • Diverse representation across gender, age, ethnicity, body type, and clothing
  • Consistent production quality — all scans processed through the same pipeline using RealityCapture
  • Signed model releases for every subject, covering biometric data and third-party sublicensing

Available data tiers

Processed 3D models

Production-ready meshes as delivered on the HumanAlloy store. Geometry cleaned and decimated for practical use. Single diffuse texture map at 2K resolution. Available in OBJ and FBX format.

Raw scan data

For research teams that need maximum detail or want to apply their own processing pipeline. Includes:

  • High-polygon raw mesh (unprocessed RealityCapture output, up to several million polygons)
  • Full photographic source set — approximately 130 calibrated RAW or JPEG images per subject, captured simultaneously from all camera positions
  • RealityCapture project files on request

Raw scan data is available as an add-on to the processed dataset or as a standalone license. Pricing is discussed separately.

Licensing terms

All licenses are non-exclusive — HumanAlloy retains all rights and continues to sell assets through its standard channels. You are not purchasing exclusivity over the dataset or any individual subject.

Licenses are provided under a standard dataset licensing agreement and are available for:

  • Internal AI and ML model training
  • Research and development
  • Commercial product development

The standard archviz license sold through the HumanAlloy store does not cover AI training, generative model development, or dataset use. A separate data licensing agreement is required for these use cases.

Model releases and consent

Every scanned subject has signed a model release agreement under Dutch law. The release covers:

  • Portrait rights
  • Biometric data as recorded during the scan session
  • Use by third parties who license the data
  • Sublicensing rights

English translations of the release template are available on request.

About the dataset

HumanAlloy was founded by Tristan Bethe, a 3D scanning specialist with over 25 years in the industry. Between 2015 and 2022, Tristan built and operated a 180-camera photogrammetry studio, producing the scan library that forms the basis of HumanAlloy. The company was acquired by Snap Inc. in 2022 and relaunched independently in 2023.

The library has been licensed to research institutions and technology companies for use in AI development projects.
